I haven't...I would love to take a special trip to the Tate just to see the Rothko's. He has always been one of my absolute favorites ever since my dad hung a poster of his work in our home when I was young.
I cannot even imagine having access to all of that art! What a treat!
We had posters of Calder, Matisse, and Lichtenstein in my house. And, I must admit, I get a Rothko calendar for myself every year! If I were a White House resident, my first stop would be the museums to borrow some paintings for my new place!
Now is the time to go to London...it is cheaper than it has been for years. The exchange rate is good, flights are well priced, there are lots of deals on hotels. Everything is so much easier in the off season. If you decide to go, email me if you want any food/lodging/transport recommendations (I go to London every year).
I definitely will do... my husband and I were actually talking about the possibility last night with the exchange rate getting better and better daily. I haven't been to London since I was a child. I would love to go back and definitely want ALL of your suggestions!!
Emily Amy Gallery is a new contemporary fine art gallery located in Atlanta, Georgia. The gallery exhibits a broad spectrum of art that is conceptually significant and visually stimulating, with a focus on works that recall mid-twentieth century modern masters. The painting which serves as the backdrop for my my header and my profile picture is by Emily Amy Gallery artist, Dory Goode.

I loved your choices. How amazing would it be if the Obamas could borrow a Rothko???
Have you ever been to the Rothko 'chapel' in the Tate Modern? A full series of his paintings are in their own room, and it is an amazing place to be.
I have also been to the Rothko chapel in Houston, which didn't quite have the same impact on me as the room at the Tate Modern.
