Just a quick note on this gray Friday afternoon about the recent acquisition of two dynamic new curators by The High Museum. As the Atlantan said this month in an article by Candice Dyer entitled It Takes Two, "the pair of ace curators...are preparing to shake up one of Atlanta's premier institutions." The two aces being Michael Rooks and Bret Abbott, the new curators of modern and contemporary art, and photography respectively. These two hard working men have entered the Atlanta art scene, Rooks last year, and Abbott this month, and haven't quit moving and making things happen since.
As a part of the arts community we can say we are very proud that they have decided to call Atlanta home, and are excited about what's in store for the High Museum, especially as they prepare to partner with MoMa for the next few years which will bring us Picasso to Warhol: Twelve Modern Masters. Thank you to The Atlantan for bringing attention to these wonderful champions of the arts who are now also Atlantans.
